Lower Secondary Programme & Checkpoint [www.cie.org.uk]
Grades 6 & 7 are the Middle school at The Lexicon International School and follow the Lower Secondary Programme/Checkpoint.
The Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme was launched in Spring 2007 and gives schools all over the world the framework to develop Mathematics, English and Science skills and knowledge in students. The Programme provides a bridge in learning between the Primary Programme and Cambridge IGCSE Courses. The Cambridge Lower Secondary Progression Tests are available for the first two years of secondary education and are designed to allow teachers to follow the progress of their students over time and analyse performance within their classes and against an external benchmark. Students study LSP in grades 6 & 7 which culminates with Checkpoint tests.

Cambridge Checkpoint Tests
Cambridge Checkpoint tests are available in English, Mathematics and Science. They are designed for students at stage 9 of the Lower Secondary Programme. The tests cover all major areas of learning required in the first years of an international secondary education. Each area is broken down into sub-topics. These sub-topics provide the framework for feedback on each and every student. Student work is marked in Cambridge by a CIE examiner and a report is provided for all students. An additional fee is charged for these tests by CIE [approx Rs 7500]
Endorsed text books are available for the Cambridge Lower Secondary Programme and the two years leading up to the Checkpoint tests. A resource list is available for each subject. |
